About

For more than 60 years, Aberdeen Folk Club has been meeting on a weekly basis to share stories, poems, and songs old and new. Come join us as we raise funds for the Aberdeen Arts Centre and showcase local community music this summer. This week we feature John N.A. Brown.

John NA Brown is a Canadian singer/songwriter "with the voice of a tarnished angel." John's earliest years were spent in the Canadian Boreal Forest, with a guitar in one hand and an axe in the other, which, he says: "..might just explain why I'm not a better player." Despite that, he has shared his songs from St. John's to San Francisco and from the Southern Alps to Aberdeen. He tends to perform a mixed selection of original songs and international folk, jazz, and blues favourites in three or four languages.

If you've never been up close to a bear who's growling and accompanying himself on the acoustic guitar, this is your chance!
