Our core staff team are supported by the brilliant work of our Aberdeen Arts Centre volunteers — making our audiences feel at home, serving refreshments in the Café Bar and supporting with the smooth running of performances and events across the building.

We are so grateful to our volunteers for their time and efforts, and our audiences often remark how much they appreciate their warmth and helpfulness.

Volunteering at Aberdeen Arts Centre is a great option if you're looking to support the local performing arts scene in the North East of Scotland, meet new people and keep busy in your free time or retirement. Our volunteers come from all kinds of backgrounds and levels of experience, and each of them brings their own personality to the role.

We are currently looking for volunteers to support us during our busiest time of the year! See below:

Opportunities to Volunteer

Volunteering Information Session:
Monday 22nd April 2024 at 2pm

Aberdeen Arts Centre is looking for volunteers to help support Aberdeen's Independent Stage.

Our volunteers are a crucial part of our team to help us give a warm welcome to audiences, guide them to their seats, help sell ice cream in the interval and support behind the Cafe Bar before performances and during intervals.

If you'd like to register your interest, fill out the form below.

Front of House volunteers are responsible for greeting the audience, showing them to their seats and ensuring their well-being throughout the evening.

CaféBar volunteers serve customers drinks and snacks before the show and in the interval. The bar may also remain open after the show for customers to stay and relax.

Full training will be provided for each position and you will be supported by our experienced team of current volunteers and staff throughout your time with us. Whether you can commit to several nights a week or only a few nights a month, we'd love to hear from you!

Please email complete the contact form to register your interest or with any questions.

"Aberdeen Arts Centre is unique and has been a part of the cultural life of Aberdeen for as long as I can remember (and I’m no spring chicken!).

I volunteer because I want to see it thrive and continue in the way it has done for me and my family, and to grow to find new ways of being relevant in our ever-changing world."
