Acting as the first port of call for production companies, the public, corporate clients and staff, you’ll be an integral part of the team – helping deliver incredible grassroots arts events for the people of Aberdeen.

Main Duties

  • Act as the main point of contact for all volunteers, members of the public and staff when on-site and during events
  • Provide excellent customer care & service to all visitors
  • Prepare the venue for opening prior to events, ensuring safety and cleanliness in all public areas – including keeping the Café Bar, foyer, auditorium and toilets presentable and welcoming at all times
  • Ensure security of the building and safety of staff and visitors when on shift
  • Work with venue staff and volunteers to ensure cover in the Box Office, Café Bar, Facilities and Auditorium as needed
  • Brief volunteers prior to shows and events
  • Provide leadership to team of volunteers, allocating roles before, during and after an event, and communicating all useful information,
  • Assist with room set-ups and clear-outs before and after the events and shows
  • Close the building post-event and provide a full and comprehensive shift report, including any incidents or maintenance issues
  • Ensure Café Bar is fully stocked before and during events and report takings after every event
  • Lead emergency evacuations and be responsible for contact with emergency services
  • Attend to all situations requiring first aid attention and report them in line with organisation reporting
  • Ensure effective communication with the duty technician to manage shows, and unusual and emergency situations
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Hospitality Manager.

Hours

This role is on a variable hour contract. You must have flexible availability to include working weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Rotas are created on a monthly basis and you will be required to let us know your availability in advance for each four-week period. Shifts will be allocated to staff members based on this availability.

Salary

£12.71 per hour
